Partnering with thefingerprint

A 3-in-1 Case Study:

Some things are just meant to be.

So it was that James Alexander decided the time was right to seek out a wordsmith (or two) able to produce captivating content for his redesigned website. Having made the switch from part to full-time, he had been struggling to find the right words to promote thefingerprint, his full-service creative design agency. He shared the opportunity on a freelancing website, just as Stu was on the lookout for fresh projects.

Seeing the Need for Content

Looking back on his early struggles, James said, “Writing the content about your own business is hard as you continue to scrap and start again. Being able to speak to someone, and offload the information and then have them present back the content was not only better but more professional too. Using a professional copywriter saved time, money and in the end provided a better result.”

James took the time to fill out the brief, sharing key details such as his website goals and preferred tone of voice. Placing trust in Stu’s expertise, the words soon started to flow. From the home page to the about page, the content would continue to showcase thefingerprint’s full range of creative services, encouraging prospective clients to get in touch.

Delightful Results

Having reviewed his website analytics James said “the main content on the homepage has seen the best results. It consistently gets longer time on the page, with consistently about 1m 44s spent on the site by viewers, who then head to the contact page and submit enquiry forms.”

The impact has been crystal clear, with an average of 5 visitors per month following up and asking about the services offered by thefingerprint. Whether for reasons of budget or service capabilities, not all of the enquiries lead to work. However, James has been delighted with the reliable stream of new projects, which have led to thefingerprint winning the Scotland Prestige Awards as the best ‘Design Agency in Scotland’ an incredible three years running.

40+ On-brand Blogs Later

Delighted with his new web copy, James also picked the Creative Pear to write his blogs. Having been introduced to the project back in 2021, Kate has now written more than 40 pieces, with those on the importance of branding, premium hosting, and Wordpress maintenance proving the most popular.

Reflecting on the Creative Pear’s blog writing service, James said, “Being able to provide a list of titles and having you work away on them is great. It’s easy to do, with the blogs always being of a great standard. Not having to write the blogs myself means that I save time and money that can be used in driving outcomes for my business. The blogs help to sell our main services, highlighting our expert knowledge and connecting with our readers.”

Helping His Trusted Clients

Taking a friendly and focused approach, James has led the way in the delivery of creative services for an ever-expanding range of clients. He’s continued our long-standing collaboration too, calling on our support in the writing of website content for Nightingale Home Care and Loc Hire (a specialist provider of welfare unit hire services). Having carried out thorough keyword research, we have written a variety of profile-boosting pages for these respected clients.

Speaking of Loc Hire, James recalled that some cabin manufacturers had not been seeing the relevant content on searches. Knowing the results that could be achieved, he asked us to rewrite the content in a more customer-friendly style. This led to improved Google rankings, with an upturn in quality leads. More specifically, the home page went from having a CTR of 3% to 11%, with similar increases for the welfare, events and contact pages.

Nightingale Home Care has seen similarly impressive results, with the website page ranking going up by 5% to 7%. General awareness and click-through-rates have also shot up, with James saying that the content has made for a significant increase in business, local job stability, and care team recruitment.

The Future Looks Bright

Having developed such a strong and successful client relationship, thefingerprint can definitely be counted as one of the Creative Pear’s most valued clients. Already committed to the writing of James’s monthly blogs, we’re equally excited to see which other projects are on the horizon.
